Zilog Z84C00 Die Shots

Here's a CMOS version of the classic Zilog Z80. It's one of the few chips in our collection that has more than a single layer of metal.

Many separate images were stitched to produce this die shot. All were shot by Greg James in San Francisco, then transmitted to the UK where Christian Sattler automatically corrected and stitched them together using a combination of Autopano-sift-C and custom code. A map of stitched images is shown on the right.
